International initiative on x-ray fundamental parameters

Dear members of the FP Initiative,

As it was announced in the last FP Workshop, we have the intention of organizing the publication of a special issue (SI) in Radiation Physics and Chemistry, showcasing the works performed within this initiative. The goal of this SI is twofold: first, to reflect the multiple interactions and synergy between research groups, metrology institutes and companies on a global level; secondly, to be used as a visit card for gathering new members that can expand or improve our outreach with respect to economic, environmental, scientific and societal challenges.

It is with great pleasure that we have already the commitment of several key persons in the field to submit high quality works to this special issue and we hope that you too will consider submitting one manuscript that reflects your engagement in the initiative or a joint work between partners.

We hope that you consider submitting your work to this special issue, as it will be seen by the community as an indication of the achievements and vitality of our initiative. If you cannot at the moment submit your work, we hope that you could act as a reviewer so that the entire initiative is involved in this joint effort so that that we can publish a high quality report.

The submission can be uploaded here from April 15th, 2021 up to November 30th, 2021 February 28th, 2022 by choosing the “VSI:X-Ray Atomic Parameters” regular article or review types.
