The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is the national metrology institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks, and it promotes progress and reliability in metrology for society, economy, and science.
In Berlin-Adlershof, PTB uses synchrotron radiation from the electron storage rings Metrology Light Source (MLS), and BESSY II for metrology. In Department "Radiometry with Synchrotron Radiation" the following position is to be filled at the earliest possible date:
Scientist (m/f/d) with PhD in the field of physics or comparable
The position is limited to three years. The place of employment is Berlin-Adlershof.
The working group EUV-Radiometry develops measurement techniques for the characterization of optical elements and detectors, as well as the investigation of material properties in the spectral range from 1 nm to 40 nm. Applications are mainly investigations of optical components for semiconductor lithography with EUV radiation and the development of methods for the investigation of structured surfaces by light scattering. The group uses two monochromator beamlines at MLS and BESSY II. It operates the EUV reflectometer and a scatterometer ellipsometer for the measurement of reflection and scattering under arbitrary polarization directions.
