It was the first time EXSA could bestow two young scientist awards as decided on EXSA&#8217;s general assembly in 2008 in Cavtat, Croatia.<br \/>\nThe young scientist award for the best PhD thesis in the field of X-ray spectrometry was awarded to Matthias M\u00fcller, Berlin, Germany.
